Antique Post Cards for Halloween

Halloween is finally here!

I wanted to share my "virtual" Halloween post card collection with you.  Thanks to Pinterest there are so many great ones to choose from!

Here are a few of my favorites.  I'll start with a few scary witches for my friend, Vicki Baker.

Now for some witches that aren't scary!

And more children:

A few miscellaneous and some cats, too!

My friend and fellow Quester, Roxann, had a series of these framed in her house.  I am so jealous!

And two favorite stylized ones!

KEEP CALM AND SCARY ON!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM ME

GLAM PUMPKINS JUST IN TIME FOR HALLOWEEN

I have never used glam pumpkins for my Halloween decorating except for two glitter ones that I bought at Wal-Mart this year and they are for Thanksgiving!

I considered buying a mercury glass one from Homology in Arnolds Park this year but I put it back at the last minute.

Here are a few that I may try for next year!

Fun with jewels:

Fun with glitter:

Fun with sequins:

Fun with tulle:

Fun with paint:

Fun with lace:

Fun with nail heads, studs and push pins:

Of course for me a glam pumpkin might look like this...(maybe in gold and black!)

Happy Halloween!!!

SAYING GOODBYE FOR THE SUMMER....

My husband and I will be leaving soon for our winter home.  We wanted to host a farewell party for a few friends from the lake.

I chose a "candy corn" theme.  I tried to use corn in the decorations and a candy corn theme in the sweets and treats that I prepared.

Everyone brought an appetizer and we provided the entree and dessert.

I set up the serving table ahead of time with corn molds and corn items.

I made a snack mix using candy corn.  The recipe makes a large batch.  I was able to bag some as "take home treats" as the guests were leaving.

Here is the table with the food.  My husband made lasagna and a guest brought a lovely green salad.

 I made dessert.

The cupcake recipe can be found here: http://www.countryliving.com/cooking/about-food/halloween-surprise

This fudge was very simple to make.  Recipe can be found here: http://www.crazyforcrust.com/2013/10/halloween-fudge/
